Does your life feel like one continual busy moment with a never-ending stream of things you need to accomplish?

Like me, you’ve probably tried to keep “life balance” top-of-mind. But the reality is that today’s continual chaos combined with non-stop busyness finds life sailing by at a rapid pace. Things continue to happen with or without you, and finding the time to catch up seems to evaporate. YIKES!

With everything that is going on in life and the world around you, do you feel content or a little lost? Maybe you vacillate between the two?!? It’s hard to keep your sense of direction when your vision gets blurred.

Regain Your Focus

Distractions and a lack of focus are well-known for stopping the best entrepreneurs dead in their tracks. Add in a little overwhelm, and stress will rear its ugly head. The next thing you know, you’ve forgotten your WHY and lost your mojo. (Don’t worry. You’re not alone. It happens to the best of us.)

Before you do anything else: STOP and take a deep breath. (Let that moment wash over you.)

Now you’re ready to walk through an easy process that will get your groove back:

  • Review.
  • Regroup.
  • Refresh.

Review what’s ahead of you for the next day, week, or month. Identify your most important tasks (aka MITs). This easy-to-do practice, when done consistently, will allow you to see progress without stress or overwhelm.  (See Prov. 3:5-6)

Regroup is the step for getting back on track, so you focus on the right things and not distractions. Remember, tomorrow is a new day with untapped potential. (See Lamen. 3:23)

Refresh by unplugging from the world and take a few moments for yourself to do something you enjoy. Turn on uplifting and inspiring music. Lean into God through scripture and prayer. Take a short walk around the block. (See Isaiah 40:31)

This exercise aims to get you off the treadmill of life, so you take each new step with purpose. Be intentional to rise above any feelings of falling short, overwhelm, or stress. Identify your most important tasks. Rest in the fact that each day begins anew. Embrace the gift of taking time for yourself.
