I had the opportunity to hear Harvey Mackay speak several years ago at a conference. Mackay is best known as the author of five business bestsellers, including Swim With the Sharks, Beware the Naked Man Who Offers You His Shirt, and Dig Your Well Before You’re Thirsty.

He shared this powerful, thought-provoking statement, “The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement.” 6 months later…

…years later it still has me thinking!

I’m continually reminded that just when I “think” I’ve got things figured out, I don’t. There’s room for improvement.

When I meet new people and engage in meaningful conversations, I realize I have so much to learn and gain from other perspectives and their life experiences. There’s room for improvement.

I decided that the “room” he mentioned in that statement will never shrink. It will always remain THE. biggest. room! There will forever be doors that open to lead us on new paths and adventures and places where we can thrive and grow!

There will continue to be obstacles in our lives that challenge us, trip us up, stretch us, and offer us a choice whether or not we will embrace the — room for improvement.

Sometimes, we need to hear from others around us through constructive criticism, accountability, or feedback that we have room for improvement in certain areas of our lives. It can be frustrating, exciting, and scary all at the same time. Right?

What do you think? Do you see this as the biggest room? What areas need improvement in your life, personally + professionally?

Let me know in the comments, I would LOVE to hear from YOU!
