What has worked in the past?

NEW + IMPROVED isn't always better, or the solution.

Let me explain.

When it comes to marketing and growing our businesses -- we are bombarded everywhere with "new" and fresh ways to do things! Technology continues to evolve with new tools, apps, platforms for us to gain exposure. It can be really overwhelming.

Are you looking for the "next best thing" to market your business?

Let me suggest »» looking back!

Ask yourself the question in the subject of this email, "What has worked in the past?"

If you're anything like me -- we look forward! We are on to the next thing, embracing new ideas, opportunities, solutions. We want results! (in all areas of life, right?)

But, in ALL areas of our life -- we can ask ourself and others the question, what's worked?

Instead of re-inventing the wheel »» DO MORE OF WHAT'S WORKED!

Dust something off!
Refresh it!
Give it a little tweak, if needed!

Don't get me wrong, there is room for new too! But, it's not always the answer.

Take a look at your goals, personally + professionally, has something worked before that could work again?

Something to chew on + inspire YOU!

What Problems Do You Solve?

In business, most often, sales solve ALL problems.

There's one common issue I see most sales professionals, business owners, and entrepreneurs have »» their cash register is NOT ringing enough!

...can you relate?

One way to build business buzz, and attract your target market to want to learn more about your products and services, is to talk about the problems that you solve for them!

Do you have a top 20 list? «« a list of the top 20 problems that you solve for your clients?

IF not, make one!

There are many ways this one list can serve us in our business! Here are a couple of examples:

  1. Content Content Content • for blogs, emails, podcasts, social media, youtube videos, etc. Each problem on your list (and sub-problems of the problems) are topics to share about!
  2. Great Questions • great questions, lead to meaningful conversations. When you are crystal clear about the problems you solve for your target market, you can ask great questions to get conversations going about the topic. You never know what could be on the overside of a conversation.
  3. Referrals • when you know the problems you solve and communicate them to others, people refer the people they know to you who have that problem!

Another powerful way this list serves us is, it keeps them top of mind -- for US! We can keep our list handy, and review it frequently. It's amazing what happens and how often opportunities present themselves when we are on high alert.

Here's what I know, there are people laying in bed at night praying for an answer to a problem they have -- and YOU have a solution!

Don't be the best kept secret!

Develop your list. Keep it top of mind. Talk about it. «« your business with thank YOU!

Know what you stand for

A few years ago I felt like I was unfocused and all over the board in my business. (and...if I'm honest, a little in life too!) I was chasing "bright shiny objects" everywhere! Throwing ideas and hard earned dollars against the wall hoping and praying something would stick.

Have you ever been there in your business? life? Are you there right now?

The madness stopped when I made the decision to get crystal clear about WHAT I stood for -- in ALL areas of my life + business!

I didn't even know it was a "thing" -- to know what what my core values were in my business until I read through the book Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business, by Gino Wickman «« WOW! What I learned from reading that book transformed my business on many levels.

My biggest takeaway initially was establishing the core values for my company. The cool thing that happened when I dove into it is, I realized they were an extension of me! By investing the time to work ON my business, I grew and got clear about who I was and what I stood for personally as well.

Do you have established, written out core values for your business? If you want to check out our 4 core values click here.

The benefits are powerful for 2 reasons:

  1. CONFIDENCE = they serve as a foundation to stand firm upon.
  2. CLARITY = they help you strengthen your yes + no muscles.

With that? Confidence + Clarity = UNSTOPPABLE

Have you heard this quote before? »» "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." «« don't let that be you! Invest time in YOU + your business by establishing what you stand for.

What are your 2 reasons?

I've got a quick question for you »» What are your 2 reasons?

Let me unpack this a bit before you come up with your answer.

I'm going to make the assumption that with the new year you dreamed a little bit, set goals, planned out and/or strategized where you are heading or where you'd like to go.  (if not, I would highly recommend investing some time into doing that, it's crucial if you want to move forward in any area of your life.)

Ok.  With that assumption I just made -- you most likely have these 2 reasons that you're not even aware of.

REASON 1 = ALL the excuses and "reasons" why you can't execute on your plan or reach your goals.

REASON 2 = Your WHY!  The purpose or motivation that fuels you and inspires you to take action every day to move you towards your goal.

Everyday, for the rest. of. your. life.  Seriously. You have a choice to make -- you get to pick which reason you are going to nurture and grasp on to every day, every moment of each day!

So now, it's time for you to identify your 2 reasons.

What will trip you up? Keep you stuck? Take the wind out of your sails?

What energizes you? Moves you forward? Fuels you to take action + press on?

When you've identified your 2 reasons you will want to "starve" reason 1, and feed reason 2.

Make sense?  I hope so.
