Power Words: Equip

Here we are, the final week of the series –> unpacking the word …R.E.F.I.N.E.  If you missed any of the previous weeks, you can check them out:  Week 1 Renew ::: Week 2 Encourage ::: Week 3 Fulfill ::: Week 4 Inspire ::: Week 5 Nurture.  Today…

E is for: EQUIP

Are we ever fully prepared?  Think about it …in every area of life, at any given time a “curve ball” could be thrown at us.  Something could change.  Something could happen to…

…trip. us. UP!

We lose our job.  Have an unexpected financial need.  A loved one dies.  Our spouse walks out.  Friends betray us.  We try, but cannot get pregnant.  We are diagnosed with the unthinkable.

Every moment we live, we face the unknown.  There are times when we “think” we’ve got it all figured out, until an unexpected “something” interrupts our perfect little plan.

The beautiful gift that life gives us is an opportunity to learn and take away all that we can from each experience.  It’s a choice, and IF we choose to see it from this perspective we will see each day, we are equipped to face it

…no matter what.

Living life, seeking out circumstances, events, places, mentors, books — choosing to learn and grow equips us.  It furnishes us and provides us with whatever is needed for use, or for any undertaking.  These things prepare us intellectually, emotionally, physically, spiritually, financially, relationally.  BUT, once again — it’s up to us to embrace.

It is up to us to tap into our “toolbox” — all those things we’ve learned — and put them to use.  APPLY them into our lives to take our next steps.  I’ve found that every situation is unique, but the “tools” I choose to embrace can be applied to every situation.  Sometimes it’s…

courage
more patience
faith
forgiveness
skills that I don’t feel 100% confident in
seeking to understand
perseverance
scripture and trust and standing on the promises of God
surrender

…the list can be long, and often it’s all of these at once!

We are all equipped to live out our purpose, one step at a time — and pursue God’s plan for our life, regardless of the circumstance, how “low” we think we are, or feel.  As we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us…when we are weak, HE is strong…the JOY of the Lord is our strength!  With Him, we. are. equipped.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Question:  Do you feel you are equipped to face your days, your tomorrows — and the challenges they bring?  What action can you take to prepare yourself and/or to tap into the toolbox you already hold based on your life experiences?  Share you comment by clicking here.
