We are getting to know and better understand the character of God each day through these virtues…
…what a blessing.
Today I’m reminded of Lamentations 3:22-23 “The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.”
What is mercy? This is how I explained it to my boys…it’s like a judge finding you guilty, but then withholding any punishment. An act of mercy is giving help or compassion on someone afflicted. We had the opportunity to talk about a current situation that happened during recess at school. My older son saw how another child was shown “mercy”
Personally, I am beyond grateful for mercy. The blessings I do. not. deserve. The grace, kindness, gentleness, tolerance, and forgiveness that I do. not. deserve when I make wrong decisions or mess up royally.
His mercies never cease…GREAT is His faithfulness. I pray, “May my children and I always be merciful, just as You Father are merciful.”
