“Mom, no offense, but right now…I just don’t have the desire.” I respect the honesty of my son. I’m grateful that he shared with me, that right now, he’s just not that into the Word. As we talked about this virtue, I realized that they don’t understand the significance of it right now. And…
…that’s okay.
Oh…how I desire this virtue to for my children.
It took me over 30 years to develop this love. A desire to dig in. A desire to discover Truth. A discipline of going to the word for answers, guidance, strength, and encouragement.
I didn’t grasp the meaning of — seek first the Kingdom of God or Thy Word is a lamp unto thy feet and a light unto my path – until my life experiences, my plan, my will, the road I chose to travel, left me defeated, out-of-options, spent…
…at a bottom.
I love how the prayer says, “May my children GROW to find Your Word…” I believe that just as I’ve grown to find His word significant, they will too! I believe God will capture their hearts when they are ready to understand the meaning, the message, and as they G R O W, they will discover the Truth in His word.
I will pray, “Father, may my children grow to find Your word more precious than much pure gold and sweeter than honey from the comb. And Father, may the fire in my heart and the desire you’ve placed inside of me to seek You first through Your word never dull. May it continue to increase, may I come to better understand You more thought it everyday. Amen.”
“The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.” Psalm 19:9-10

Me TOO…captured by IT!! I look forward to waking up each morning and having my quiet time where I can get my soul food, digging into the Word! Better late than never, right?? Great to hear from YOU again Amy… =)
